Casino Crime Roundup: Ruggs Assigned to Nevada Governor’s Mansion

Ex-Las Vegas Raiders player Henry Ruggs III is said to have been employed at the Nevada governor’s residence during his prison term.

Ruggs is among the few inmates allowed to work during the day at the manor where Gov. Joe Lombardo (R), a past sheriff of Clark County, lives.

A corrections spokesperson informed Las Vegas TV station KLAS that Ruggs was placed in minimum custody. This enables him to engage in community work beyond a correctional facility.

Ruggs was sentenced to serve a minimum of three years in prison. He was found guilty of DUI causing death and vehicular manslaughter after a fatal 2021 accident in Las Vegas that claimed the lives of Tina Tintor and her dog.

Prosecutors indicated that the ex-wide receiver was traveling at speeds up to 156 mph just before the crash. Ruggs had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.16% following the crash, double the legal limit in Nevada.
